from Nancy Stiefel
The April SJ film will be shown on Sunday, April 27 at 7 PM
in the UUFVB sanctuary. The film is “Two Who Dared: the Sharp’s War”
– a documentary about a Unitarian minister and his wife who left two young
children in 1939 to go to Nazi-controlled Europe to help Jews get out of Czechoslovakia
and Hungary. Rabbi Birnholz of Temple Beth Shalom will conduct a
short Holocaust Remembrance service following the film.
Because of the conflict with Mother’s Day, the May SJ film
will be shown on Sunday, May 18. That documentary is titled “Move to
Amend.” It provides a clear history lesson in Supreme Court
decisions and explains the movement to amend the US Constitution so that
corporations do not have the rights of persons.
The June 8th (back to our regular 2nd Sunday
of the month schedule) film will be “Blackfish” – the documentary about Orca
whales in captivity.
