March and April Events

from John Debus

Hi Everyone,
First, I'd like to thank all who came out to support the TCPA. Our first meeting at the American Legion brought out a couple of problems with our equipment. The Legion is a much larger area, so our speakers were not loud enough. Also there is no Internet service, so we used my Verizon card and had some problems with the streaming of the videos. These are solvable problems that we will be working on. The Event did turn out very nice with everyone contributing information and joining in the discussions and our speakers did an excellent job covering the subjects. We did run out of time and didn't cover as much as we had liked to. I guess we just tried to cover to much. But this did prepare us for our next Event. We are very honored to have Sister Patricia Siemen from The Center for Earth Jurisprudence come to us to educate us on EARTH RIGHTS. This is one event you don't want to miss. I heard her speak in Orlando, and she and David Cobb have become my two hero's in the Progressive movement. I guarantee you will not be disappointed.
The other issue at the event that I thought was a little tacky was the collection of donations. We will not be walking the donation can around the room in the future. It will either be passed around or placed on the table for those who would like to donate. We are not looking for people to pay at our events, they are free for all to attend. If anyone would like to donate, it would be greatly appreciated, and we are looking only for pocket change (unless you are a 1%er) to help with our cost of rent. However, our next Event, we will be passing the hat for a collection to pay for Sister Patrica's travel expenses. However you are NOT required to give anything, the Event is Free, the important thing is for you to be there.
Jerry Buechler would like to use the American Legion Post to show a new documentary on the April 23 and we'll know by the end of the week, if it's a go, and will get information out at that time to everyone.
May 10 & 11 is a Day of Action against Corporate Personhood (MTA). It was brought to my attention that some people were interested in having a protest at the old Occupy site at the Farmer's Market. TCPA can not do this as an organization..However, if anyone is interested, please let me know and I will pass the information on.
Please continue to check our website for what is going on. Also check our blogs for additional information.  Feel free to make comments with your own opinions. If you have any questions, problems, or suggestions, you can ALWAYS contact me at any time. My contact info is on the website.
Thanks for all your support,
See you at the Event,
John
